Hipster Kid is the creative vision of  “Hip Sisters” Julianne McNamara-Zeile and Elizabeth McNamara-Thompson.  Natives of  New York, the girls moved to Northern California as children, and have been moving (and shaking) every since.  Big sis, Elizabeth, followed her dreams to the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!).  After earning a Bachelors in Communications and Business, she opted for fun and sun in San Diego, where she worked with AT&T and bought her first home.  Longing for a return to her college roots, Elizabeth moved back to Oregon, where she met and married husband Kirk Thompson.  

While Elizabeth was enjoying cheerleading and college life, little sis, Julianne, was spending her days in the gym training for Olympic Gold.  After making the 1980 Olympic team only to see the games boycotted, Julianne trained four more years for her shot at an Olympic competition.  The training paid off, as Julianne struck Gold on the uneven parallel bars, as well as Silver on Floor Exercises and as a US Team member.  The Los Angeles games made an impression, and after a year-long tour, Julianne returned to L.A. to pursue acting and attend UCLA (Go Bruins!).  It was there that she met and married husband Todd Zeile. 

Missing each other, the girls relocated to Westlake Village, CA, where they own and operate Hipster Kid, while balancing marriage and motherhood (7 children combined).  With the combination of Elizabeth’s edgy creativity and Julianne’s sense of high fashion, the “Hip Sisters” have created a unique shopping experience for “hip kids” and parents alike!!
